RABEPRAZOLE 20 MG (EC) + ACECLOFENAC 200 MG (SR)

DESCRIPTION

Rodeo-A Capsule (Rabeprazole20 mg (EC) + 200 mg (SR)  is a combination of Aceclofenac and Rabeprazole. It is used to relieve pain, stiffness, and swelling associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis (wearing off of the flexible tissues at the ends of your bones), rheumatoid arthritis (pain and swelling in the small joints), ankylosing spondylitis (fusion of small bones in the spine), sprains or strain, lower back pain, etc. Aceclofenac relieves pain and Rabeprazole prevents acidity and ulceration that may be caused by the use of Aceclofenac.

INDICATION

MECHANISM OF ACTION 

• Rabeprazole  : Rabeprazole inhibits the proton pump (H+/K+ ATPase) in the stomach's parietal cells. This action blocks the final step of gastric acid production, thereby reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This helps in treating conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers by lowering gastric acidity and promoting healing of the stomach and esophageal lining.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Rodeo-A Capsule (Rabeprazole20 mg (EC) + 200 mg (SR)  interact with other painkillers (aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, oxycodone, tramadol, naproxen, celecoxib, etoricoxib), blood thinners (clopidogrel, heparin, warfarin), medicines used to treat heart diseases (digoxin), diuretics (furosemide, amiloride), antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin), antihypertensive (enalapril, valsartan, telmisartan, losartan, candesartan, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril, methyldopa, clonidine, moxonidine), antidiabetics (glibenclamide, gliclazide, tolbutamide), antidepressants (fluvoxamine, paroxetine, citalopram, escitalopram, sertraline, fluoxetine), steroids (hydrocortisone, prednisolone), immunosuppressants (ciclosporin, tacrolimus), anti-HIV (zidovudine).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Rodeo-A Capsule (Rabeprazole20 mg (EC) + 200 mg (SR)  as it might cause increased dizziness and risk of stomach bleeding.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Rodeo-A Capsule (Rabeprazole20 mg (EC) + 200 mg (SR)  may have interactions with asthma, heart, liver, and kidney problems, low vitamin B12 (anaemia), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, systemic lupus erythematosus (an autoimmune condition that causes joint pain, fever and skin rashes), porphyria (a disorder in the formation of red blood pigment), colitis or Crohn’s disease (conditions causing swelling of the bowel, diarrhoea, bowel pain, vomiting and weight loss).

PRECAUTIONS
