DESCRIPTION

Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg) is a combination medication used to manage pain and inflammation. Aceclofenac Sodium, an NSAID, alleviates pain and swelling by inhibiting prostaglandin production, while Paracetamol provides additional pain relief and reduces fever by blocking pain signals and affecting temperature regulation. This combination is commonly used for conditions such as arthritis, muscle pain, back pain, and other inflammatory or painful conditions, offering both anti-inflammatory and analgesic benefits.

INDICATION

• Rheumatoid Arthritis : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) happens when your body's immune system attacks the lining of your joints causes swelling and pain at joints. In RA the same joints on both sides of the body are affected. This helps to distinguish RA from osteoarthritis. Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg)  is used to relieve swelling and pain in the joints due to RA.

• Osteoarthritis : Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis. It occurs when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of your bones wears down over time.Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg)  is used to relieve pain and stiffness due to osteoarthritis.

• Ankylosing Spondylitis : Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a type of arthritis that primarily affects the spine and causes some of the small bones to fuse. It begins in the lower back spine and can pass up to the neck. Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg)  is used to relieve stiffness and pain (especially in the lower back, hip, and pelvis) associated with ankylosing spondylitis.

MECHANISM OF ACTION 

Aceclofenac Sodium: Acts as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By blocking COX, Aceclofenac reduces the production of these inflammatory chemicals, thereby decreasing pain, swelling, and fever.

Paracetamol: Functions as an analgesic and antipyretic. It primarily works in the central nervous system by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which helps to alleviate pain and reduce fever. DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interaction: Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg)  interact with cholesterol lowering drugs (cholestyramine), charcoal, medicine to stop vomiting (domperidone, metochlopramide), alcohol, anti HIV drug (zidovudine), blood thinner (warfarin), blood pressure lowering medicine, anti cancer or anti arthritis drug (methotrexate) may lead to drug toxicity or affect the working of ACECLOFENAC+PARACETAMOL. So, contact the doctor before taking these medicines.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Patient affected with liver disease, bleeding disorder and alcoholism should not take Pesak-Plus Tablet (Aceclofenac Sodium 100 mg + Paracetamol 325 mg)  as it has a risk of causing derangement in liver functions.
