DESCRIPTION

SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 (Sitagliptin 100 mg + Dapagliflozin 10 mg + Metformin 500 mg) Tablets are an oral antidiabetic combination used along with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar levels in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Sitagliptin helps increase insulin release when blood sugar is high, Dapagliflozin helps remove excess glucose through urine, and Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they help improve blood glucose control. 

INDICATION

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus . SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 (Sitagliptin 100 mg + Dapagliflozin 10 mg + Metformin 500 mg) is used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults.

• Blood Glucose Control . SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 is used along with proper diet and regular exercise to help improve blood glucose control.

• Inadequately Controlled Blood Glucose . SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 may be used when blood glucose levels are not adequately controlled with the prescribed diabetes treatment, as directed by the healthcare professional.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Sitagliptin 100 mg 

•  Inhibits the DPP-4 enzyme.
  Increases the levels of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP.
  Enhances glucose-dependent insulin release.
  Decreases glucagon secretion.
  Helps reduce elevated blood glucose levels.
   

Dapagliflozin 10 mg

        Inhibits the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys.
        Reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys.
        Increases glucose excretion through urine.
        Helps lower blood glucose levels.
 

Metformin 500 mg

 Decreases hepatic glucose production.
Improves insulin sensitivity.
Increases peripheral glucose uptake.
Enhances glucose utilization by body tissues.
Helps reduce blood glucose levels.

 

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interaction : SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 Tablets may increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Diuretics may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure.

Drug-Food Interaction : Excessive alcohol intake may increase the risk of side effects associated with Metformin and may affect blood sugar control.

Drug-Disease Interaction : Patients with kidney problems, severe dehydration, diabetic ketoacidosis, or metabolic acidosis should use SITAVAC-DM 100/10/500 only under medical supervision.

PRECAUTION
