DESCRIPTION

Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) is a medicine used in the treatment of lung conditions such as asthma (narrowing of the airways leading to breathing difficulty) and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (group of lung problems that cause blockage of airflow leading to breathing-related problems). Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways and loosening the mucous. Thus, it makes breathing easier.  

INDICATION

• Asthma: Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg)  Acebrophylline helps in managing asthma by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways, reducing bronchoconstriction, and improving airflow, making it easier to breathe.

• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD):Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg)  It is used in the treatment of COPD, which includes conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Acebrophylline helps in reducing airway inflammation, loosening mucus, and relaxing the airways, which helps alleviate symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, and coughing.

• Bronchitis: Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) In cases of acute or chronic bronchitis, Acebrophylline aids in reducing mucus production and inflammation, making it easier for patients to clear their airways and breathe more comfortably.
   

MECHANISM OF ACTION 

Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) acts through several mechanisms to improve respiratory function. It contains Ambroxol, a mucolytic agent that breaks down and thins mucus in the airways, easing its clearance and reducing congestion. Additionally, Acebrophylline is metabolized to Theophylline, a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles by increasing cyclic AMP levels, thereby alleviating bronchoconstriction. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, reducing the release of inflammatory mediators and the activity of inflammatory cells in the airways. Lastly, its antioxidant effects help neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, further protecting the airways and supporting overall lung health.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Drug-Drug Interaction : Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) may interact with water pills (furosemide), medicines used to treat gout (allopurinol), antacid (cimetidine), antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, amoxicillin, doxycycline), drugs used to lower high blood pressure (diltiazem, verapamil), heart-related medicines (isoprenaline), anthelmintic (thiabendazole),  corticosteroids (prednisone) and oral contraceptives (ethinylestradiol). 

Drug-Food Interaction : Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) may interact with alcohol. Therefore, avoid intake of alcohol with Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) as it may increase drowsiness. Also, avoid or limit the intake of caffeine with Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) as it may cause side effects.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Avoid taking Jenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg) if you have low blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, hemodynamic instability (unstable blood pressure), had a heart attack, kidney or liver diseases. If you have hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), irregular heartbeats, viral infections, heart failure, high blood pressure, fits, gastric or duodenal ulcers, heart diseases, kidney or liver insufficiency, inform your doctor before takingJenbro-100 Capsule (Acebrophylline 100 mg).
